SAINT AUGUSTINE-Cheryl Boone, Saint Augustine, four miles north of Avon, recently completed and self-published her final book in her Rilla series, Battle Cry of the Thirteen Nations. The first book she published was The Fourteenth Rilla.

According to Boone, “The Fourteenth Rilla is a fast-paced story that follows Rilla St. James, a young woman in the modern world who has no idea she is the thirteenth descendant of the first warrior queen named Rilla.”

She continued, “Through the centuries, the true Rillas have battled a series of evil queens and their army known as the Brotherhood. The current dark queen, Serena, will stop at nothing to control the world and plunge into deadly chaos, torture, and horrific situations using the dark arts at her disposal.

We follow Rilla through the heartbreak of her beloved husband, John Michael Sinclair, leaving her with no explanation after just two months of marriage. Her ancestral home, Winter Rose, calls her and her warrior sisters of the Thirteen Nations to live there while Rilla learns her destiny and all work together and train for the coming battle.

“Along the way, Rilla adopts four little orphaned boys that ground her and finally get her over the loss of her husband, only to have him return with an unbelievable account of where he has been, and determined to win her back.”

The second book Boone worked on was Tears of a Queen, another fast moving book that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. Her third and final book of the series is also fast paced, showing the reader the sacrifices Rilla faces not only as her role as Queen, but along with being a wife and mother.

“She faces assassins, the kidnapping of her husband and children, betrayal by the sister warriors she loves and trust the most. When the last battle comes, she must face an unexpected adversary who uses a darker magic and her sisters begin to die all around her.
